About NorthStar...

When choosing a name for her fledgling investment firm almost twenty years ago, Julie Goodridge thought back to learning the story of the people who escaped slavery by following the North Star. She wanted her company to provide security and act as a guide for people who wanted a better world for themselves and those around them.

(And considering the fact that the other name in the running was "Stocks and Blondes," conventional wisdom says she went in the right direction.)

NorthStar has always been on the cutting edge of socially responsible investing (SRI). As one of the first members of the Social Investment Forum at its founding in 1984, Ms. Goodridge has always used the strictest social criteria in selecting investments for clients.
